Located on a 150-acre parcel in El Chorro Regional Park the SLO Botanical Garden grows native nectaring plants for the western monarch to feed on during its long migration. The garden primarily features the ecosystems and plants of the five mediterranean climate regions of the world. Currently planted in display gardens, eventually, these plants will fill landscapes on the hillside. There is also a 2-acre Children’s Garden which is designed to stimulate all 5 senses with plenty of things to see, touch, taste, smell, and hear.  This is a great location for the family close to campgrounds, great hiking, and more.  Do as the monarchs do and stop by!
